We recognise the importance of teaching financial literacy at school and want to create good savings behaviours at a young age. We have partnered with ASB’s School Banking programme which is available through our school and other schools across the country.
How does it work?
ASB offers children at school the opportunity to register for ASB’s School Banking Programme. The registration packs are made available through the school office and will give you a full guide to ASB’s School Banking Programme.
Once your child is registered, they’ll receive a kid’s School Banking pack from ASB. This pack will include specially designed deposit envelopes for them to use to make their deposits through the Kashin drop box located in the school administration area. It also has other items to encourage your child into good savings behaviours.
GetWise is an innovative New Zealand financial literacy programme, brought to Arakura School by ASB.
Workshops are presented direct to children in schools by full-time facilitators. Although there is no specific financial literacy module under the new national standards, GetWise content is mapped against the New Zealand Curriculum and is designed in collaboration with leading experts in primary education, financial literacy and cognitive development.
GetWise is available ENTIRELY FREE OF CHARGE to primary schools across New Zealand.
